We are excited to announce the dates for the next exhibition at Tim Andrews Gallery – Clay 22, 12th Sept – 3rd Oct. We look forward to seeing faces old and new over the three weeks the show is open.
The weather has been generally kind for this year’s garden exhibition and we have been delighted with the numbers of visitors and the lovely comments about the garden and the exhibition. Thank you to all who came along, we look forward to seeing you at the Autumn show in September. This coming weekend, the 20th and 21st June, is the NGS open gardens weekend and the last chance to see the full exhibition of garden sculptures and indoor gallery work from top international makers. We look forward to welcoming the regular NGS enthusiasts as they make their way around the gardens in Woodbury Village. NGS raises money for cancer and other charities and we are delighted to be able to support them in this way. The gardens are within walking distance of each other and combined admission is £3.50. Teas are also available at one of the gardens.
We are delighted to announce the dates for this years spring show at the gallery. May 23rd – June 14th the garden and gallery will be filled with work from makers from across the UK and beyond. The garden has been sculpted and tended since the first Solo:Solar exhibition three years ago. It is a joy for us to open our gates again to visitors in these spring months and share this beautiful slice of England.
I am thrilled to be writing from Tokyo where I have been showcasing a major collection (100 pieces!) of work for Gallery st Ives at the Tokyo Art Fair. The somewhat overwhelmingly large event with almost 50,000 visitors has just finished and I am now recovering! It was wonderful to meet such a variety of people, both art lovers and those new to the arts. It is always a pleasure to visit Japan, a country I have deep connections with both through my Raku work and throughout my family history. From a work perspective its almost like coming home, back to the birth place of Raku ceramics, where art has function and form. A beautiful country with its cherry blossom and wonderful architecture its always an adventure coming here!
