2020 has started with a bang as Tim set off to Japan along with a large collection of unique, new designs. These pieces, showing for the first time in Tobu Department Store, Tokyo from the 27th February, showcase new colours and textures alongside the iconic pieces Tim is famous for. Very large works are going to be shown alongside smaller pieces grouped within cherry wood units to reflect the famous cherry trees found in Japan. Tim has been travelling to Japan for several years now to work and exhibit and the cherry blossom season is always a highlight as locals and tourists alike pour out to walk amongst the blossom which welcomes the spring season.
Tim is also exhibiting again at Gallery St Ives in Tokyo from the 21st March – 5th April alongside Francoise Dufayard and then later in the month from the 24th April – 15th May he is showing at Sakazuki Museum in Tajimi, Gifu also in Japan. These three shows are set to be a real celebration of the Raku technique and Tim is looking forward to meeting visitors at all three exhibitions.
If you’re in Japan do come along to meet Tim and see the new work, and keep an eye out for dates later in the year in the UK where Tim has some exhibitions and courses already lined up.
